True Blueberry Syrup
Everyone knows I love my whole grain waffles. This morning I woke up a little earlier than usual and felt like making myself something special to start the week. This all-natural recipe is super simple -- store leftovers in the fridge and enjoy this yummy breakfast for days to come.

You'll Need:

1 pint of blueberries, washed
1/2 tablespoon brown sugar
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 tablespoon water

Here's How:

1. Add the blueberries, brown sugar, cinnamon and water to a small saucepan, and heat to medium-high.
2. Use a potato masher or a wooden spoon to smash the blueberries; drop the heat to medium, and allow them to simmer for about 10 minutes, or until the syrup thickens -- the longer it cooks, the more the syrup will reduce.
3. Serve over toasted whole grain waffles. (Or over low fat frozen yogurt!)

can you refrigerate leftovers. Trying to find a healthier alternative for us but wouldn't have time to do this every morning we have waffles!!!
